Best Chick Flick Movie Quotes of All Time

Wala lang, just wanted to share. First Category of my favorite quotes: Chick Flicks. :)

"When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."
When Harry Met Sally

Harry: No man can be friends with a woman he finds attractive. He always wants to have sex with her.
Sally: So you are saying that a man can be friends with a woman he finds unattractive?
Harry: No, you pretty much want to nail them, too.
When Harry Met Sally

"I would rather have had one breath of her hair, one kiss from her mouth, one touch of her hand, than eternity without it. One."
City of Angels

"I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen."
Say Anything

Lloyd Dobler: Don't worry about it. We're just having coffee. We'll be anti-social.
Diane Court: Be friends?
Lloyd Dobler: Yeah. With potential.
Say Anything

"As you wish."
The Princess Bride

"I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone. I choose a mortal life."
The Fellowship of the Ring

Jack: What would you do if I kissed you right now?
Melanie: You wouldn't kiss me.
Jack: But what would you do if i did?
Melanie: Do you wanna kiss me right now?
Jack: I wouldn't've mentioned it if didn't.
One Fine Day

"... it was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were suppose to be together... and I knew it. I knew it the very first time I touched her. It was like coming home... only to no home I'd ever known... I was just taking her hand to to help her out of a car and I knew. It was like... magic."
Sleepless in Seattle

"All I know is that we're better together than we are apart."
Forget Paris

"Kiss me as if it was the last time."
Casablanca

"Winter must be cold for those without warm memories."
An Affair to Remember

Waiting for Ghirardeli's ...

When in San Francisco, must get Ghirardeli's Chocolate.

Here are Lia and Cole waiting, waiting, waiting... Cris turned around and saw how pretty the red*red*red scene was, and couldn't resist snapping away. :)

The Last Samurai

I've never noticed Japanese actors before... and I must say: the ones in "The Last Samurai" are great!

Samurai wa totemo ii desu! Wakarimasu ka?

Check out the Movie Website to find out more.

I liked the movie, since I am a self-confessed sap when it comes to things like this. I mean, I do own DVDs of Gladiator, Glory, Saving Private Ryan, The Professional, Dances with Wolves, and other movies where the story revolves around the understanding that everyone is going to die or some other pathetic ending. I don't have The Last of the Mohicans, but I guess it belongs right up in that list.

It was a really cool movie, with good battle scenes (I physically cringe!!) and a moving picture of rural Japan, 1876. Sadly, though, I guess it was inevitable: it had a Hollywood ending. After all, this is a Tom Cruise movie. So you have a lot of Tom Cruise shots with his long hair flying across his face, around his face, away from his face, flipping past his face... and of course, Tom Cruise will save the day. Naturally. *sigh*

Regardless, the best thing about the movie for me was the Japanese acting contingent -- especially the Kids. Powerful powerful kids. And considering that they didn't speak ANY English in the whole movie... wow.

Really, you should watch it! I think I'll give it ... hmmm.. 3 snaps in a Z formation! Seriously, my IMDB rating will probably be an 8. Plus points for great acting and beautiful production. Minus brownie points for the predictability. Check out what other people have to say in the IMDB and in Film Threat.

Oh, by the way, cool pun with the title. :D

Ogenki desu!

The Naked Cowboy

Only in New York would you be able to walk around and bump into someone like...

The Naked Cowboy!

Home Sweet House

Condominium life is not so bad. You live close to work, never worry about security, and everything is packed together so closely that you almost never lose your keys. But then again, condominium life is not so great either: you can always smell when your neighbor is cooking fish, you always hear when they're singing karaoke at 2 a.m., and you never get to spend time in the early morning sun.

So almost two years ago, Vic and I started looking for a house. Just a starter house, nothing fancy. Hopefully a good investment and just big enough for us to have a dog.

Luckily, we were able to get a cute little house being developed by Ayala in Cavite. It's right behind Ayala Alabang, a bit past South Vale. And with the number of neighbors who grew up in Ayala Alabang, we affectionately call it "Ayala Alabang Junior."

It's not supposed to be done for a few more months. But when we started to visit the village last year -- surprise! We've been tracking the History of Our House through little photos every now and then.

Looks like we'll be out of the condo and in the house a lot sooner than we expected!

How can you not be excited? Not only will we have a real living room and dining room and fresh air and real sunlight, but finally we'll be able to get a dog! :)

The Farm @ San Benito

I just got back from an overnight stay at The Farm at San Benito. In one word: WOW.

photos from www.thefarm.com.ph

Check out the website here.

The Farm is actually a rest, relaxation and detoxification place, where you are supposed to wash away the inner and outer dirt from our modern living. So they provide the venue, ambience, diet, doctors (optional!), massages and exercise classes that you need to do that.

The place itself is a beautiful hideaway, designed to be at par with the spas in Bali or the provinces of Indonesia. It's very peaceful and quiet, the air is fresh and cool, it's filled with interesting plants, and the place has a lot of little bodies of water scattered here and there and everywhere...

The SPA of The Farm offers a lot of traditional massages, as well as some unique ones: try the Massage Under the Stars, which relaxes your mind AND your body since you're gazing up at the clearest sky you'd ever see.

The Restaurant offers set menus which are entirely vegetarian, though you wouldn't notice the lack of meat because of the variety of food. I was craving for a lot of MEAT MEAT MEAT and OIL after the stay, but I must say that the food FELT healthy! We even had a lot of "thinking" sessions after lunch, and I didn't feel heavy or lethargic at all!

The Service is impeccable, with everyone happy, helpful, peaceful.

The best part is that the pools and waterfalls are all HEATED. If you can't imagine how good it feels to dip yourself into warm water, surrounded by nature, but also surrounded by cushions and towels and people at your beck and call... treat yourself to the spa!

All in all The Farm is just like any other 5-star spa that you'd see in places like Bali or Malaysia. But the differences are that

(1) it's right here in our own backyard -- not even 2 hours from Manila!
(2) the little touches are impossible to beat: Little things like
- orchids on your pillows,
- mini waterfalls inside the massage rooms,
- showers in the open air [a **treat** ... your shower ceiling is partially open to the sky],
- all natural, home made soap,
- the little meditation nooks scattered all over the grounds [with cushions, shade, towels, chairs]
-pools of water everywhere...!

I also had the "Relaxation Massage." I usually cringe when i have a massage, which is why I avoid them almost completely. But this one was really... relaxing! They also offer the Lulur bath, which is the warm tub filled with exotic oils and rose petals that you always see in magazines. Coolness.

I would have loved to check out the Tai Chi class, or even the Yoga class. Too bad my workshop lasted 4 hours longer than we thought! Oh well... I'll definitely check it out next time!

The only drawback was that I was always hungry... vegetarian meals are just not as filling as I like! So I ended up gorging on fruits (and occasional runs to McDonalds ... mwahahaha)

This was such a great place! Check it out if you can! :)

Click Happy

A year ago, Sony came out with this cool little camera called the Cybershot U20. It was such a novelty at the time, since the camera was so small that it was worn as jewelry! But at the same time, this little U20 made waves with the "high" quality of its pictures. I love it since, when you wake up at 5:30 in the morning for no apparent reason, you can just grab it and CLICK!

Since hubby Vic gave me one on Christmas 2003, I've since taken almost 2,000 photos (if that doesn't seem like a lot, think about this: I've taken 6 photos on the Cybershot each and everyday, for an entire year. Considering how many freakishly boring days everyone experiences in a year, that's a lot! Plus, I've got my film camera for the big occasions.

I guess the past year has made me a Click-Happy little girl. I even took a picture of the crab we had for dinner at Cebu's SuToKil!

So I'd like to share a few of my favorite pics from the U20, which I've stuffed into My Favorite Cybershot Photos. Luckily for my friends, I'm not (yet) posting my favorite blackmail photos. But I'll think about it... [insert evil laughter here ... ;) ]

For now, it's mostly things that I just found nakakatuwa.

Hope you enjoy!

First Day Down the Hole

Gees. A first Blog post. Oh the horror, the Pressure!

I suppose an introduction is in order: Cynthia David Icasas, also known as CokeyCyn due to severe addiction to Coca-Cola. Not to be mistaken as "CockyCyn" nor misunderstood as severe addiction to Coke of another form. :)

I'm stuck over here in the islands of the Philippines, but still having fun pretending to work. Other people call it marketing. I call it play.

At any rate... this site is definitely under construction until further notice. Be sure to check back soon ... I'll make sure to make it interesting ;)
