Oh the JOY!
The Film Academy has announced the 2004 Academy Awards nominees (View the Nominees List)!
Happiness is discovering that great unconventional acting is still rewarded. Finally, Johnny Depp is nominated for Best Actor!
And of course that means that my three favorite movies in 2003 are all nominated! I'm still thinking about who I would pick as the winners ... it's so hard not to biased by my love for my three favorites. But anyway, here are my picks:
Best Film: Lord of the Rings, The Return of the King
Best Director: Peter Jackson, The Return of the King
Best Actor: Johnny Depp, Pirates of the Carribean (Actually, I think Bill Murray will win for "Lost in Translation," but I still vote for Johnny Depp!!! :) )
Best Supporting Actor: Ken Watanabe, The Last Samurai
Best Actress: ?????? Charlize Theron, Monster
Best Supporting Actress: Renee Zellweger, Cold Mountain
Best Animated Feature Film: Finding Nemo
Art Direction: The Return of the King
Cinematography: Seabiscuit
Costume Design: ????? Girl with a Pearl Earring
Editing: The Return of the King
Make-Up: Pirates of the Carribean
Music: Big Fish
Music: The Triplets of Belleville

I will Clone this Dog...
One of these days, this little doggie will be kidnapped from its owner... it's just too cute to resist!
Or maybe I'll steal this one...
and maybe we will name it Nike ... :P

Quotable Jill
Keedz pa rin kami...
In 1997, it became undeniable that I was a geek: I got hired into Brand Management at P&G. Good thing that I wasn't the only dweeb, nor the geekiest (and definitely not the smartest) kid around... I was in very good company of fellow nerds ...
Even though I don't miss working from 7 am (way way way way way way way back when I used to be able to get up before 7) all the way down to 8 pm, I do miss the humor... the sarcasm... the ribbing...the gimmicks that are so well planned that they are executed like a P&G launch... the long lunches in Glorietta... and of course, picking on Kuki. :)
Almost all of us have moved on to bigger and better things (i mean heck, Ivan, Edie and I are married -- we're getting old!), but deep down we're all still just the Keedz of Marketing!
footnote: Congratulations to Ivan and Regge, celebrating their first month of marriage!

Always Coca-Cola
All I can say after reading Javier's Blog is... Amen, brother! ROTFLMAO (What? You think I'm a Coke addict? ;) )
What Coke selling line do YOU love the best?
Always Coca-Cola (my favorite)
Other Contenders:
Have a Coke and a Smile
The Real Thing
Coca-Cola Enjoy
Not-so-greats:
Life Tastes Good
Things go Better with Coke
The Pause that Refreshes
A lot of the Coke advertising campaigns are classics. But I have got to admit that a very strong contender for my all-time most favorite Coke campaign (and I speak as both an enthusiast and as a marketeer) is local:
Mismo!
By the way, I have to say thanks to all the people who've been helping me out with my Coke collection over the years:
JUSy, Ivanrich, Jonathon, Kerol, Cuzin Marita, Leilar, Tita Cecil, Tito Joel, Technoraven Joe, Cris, Kris, PJ, Lia n Cole, Carlos n Vicki, Tito n Jeng, iBug, Pincus, Jay n Tanya n Maxine, Twinkles, The Chad, Maikaz, Competitive Nadine, Wonder Boy Joe, Gorgeous Lexy, the ever-so-talented-photographer Jakee, and of course Hubby Vic. :)
Hey, visit the Coke website at Coca-Cola.Com.
Enjoy!

I Miss My Nephews and my beautiful niece!!!!!
I miss Nico, Owen, Sara and Cole. *Sigh*
It's actually scary to think of how quickly time has flown by: I still remember Owen when he was 1 year old, standing tall in his walker and looking sideways at everyone. I remember thinking that he was one smart little boy. We called him Don Owen. Because that was his aura. Now Owen is waiting for his college acceptance letters. Eighteen!!!
Sara used to go shopping with us. With perfect skill, even at 3 years old, she could head into any shop and immediately find the most beautiful (and expensive) piece of clothing in the entire store. Now, she's a beautiful young lady with a cute tin grin!
Cole used to go around the house waking everyone up ... "Ohio gozaimasu!" ... he was the only one who we couldn't get pissed at for waking us up early on a Saturday. He used to hate bananas and eating at the dinner table. Cole is now heading a garage band on the West Coast. He's an entrepreneur who's actuallly sold copies of his CDs on the internet!
Nico was born just two years ago (going on three)... he's a terrible two ... and he's good at it. :)
*Sigh* i miss my nephews and my niece.
hi owen, sara, cole, nico!
