Ever notice...

... how some men look like women, and some women look like men who look like women?!??

Okay whatever. But this upcoming movie Connie and Carla look hilarious...!!!

Connie and Carla somehow (plot point irrelevant) end up pretending to be men who pretend to be women. Now, add every cliche you can possibly add to that story (more plot points irrelevant). But no matter how many cliches you add (even more irrelevant plot points), you can bet that this movie is going to be one of the funniest movies this year! heehee

Into each life...

a little rain must fall.

A friend lost his father. We believe that there is a heaven.

Another friend lost the pet who was his best friend for years. Comfort may seem far, but we all hope that it is quick to come.

A childhood friend was diagnosed with cancer. I know many survivors. I believe in her spirit to fight. I believe that there is more than a tomorrow.

A good friend had her heart broken. And we all know how clueless and clumsy so many men are with our hearts. We all hope that there is a greater destiny -- the love of our lives that may just as of yet undiscovered.

A very good friend had to break someone's heart. It always feels terrible to be the source of unhappiness.

We are all all products of our own decisions and yet we are still victims of circumstance. I guess... we need to decide is what to do with the time that is given us, and we need to decide whether the light really does look better when there is darkness surrounding it.

WOULD you Erase the Pain if you COULD erase the pain...?

If all the sadness that we carry around in our hearts is the result of some painful memory, why carry around the painful memory at all?

What would happen if you could erase your painful memories forever?

An intriguing question, Blue.

In Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Jim Carrey finds out that a brilliant scientific discovery now allows you to erase painful memories that you keep you from living your life today. Developed by Lacuna Inc., they promise you total peace of mind, free from past pain.

Side Comment:
This movie promises to be good... and it's great to see Jim Carrey trying out a bit more serious acting again! Though it's easy to remember him as The ANNOYING Cable Guy, I think that he has a lot of talent and potential in acting, as he displayed in The Truman Show, Man on the Moon, The Majestic, or even Liar Liar.

Let's see, let's see... painful memories... hmmm ... i don't know.

- meeting that arrogant US Embassy girl who tried to run over the MMDA?
- getting stung by a jellyfish?
- having a piano bench fall on my big toe (have you ever seen an exploding toe before? hehe)?
- seeing the live concert of Fra Lippo Lippi?
- watching the last two installments of "The Matrix"?
- watching my friends dance "Ocho-ocho" ... voluntarily...?

What memories would YOU erase if you could?

I, Robot...

One, a robot may not injure a human being, or through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm;

Two, a robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law;

Three, a robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.

Isaac Asimov, Laws of Robotics from I. Robot, 1950

As an Asimov fan, I was in breathless anticipation of the upcoming "I, Robot" movie that's scheduled to come out this July. It's a wonderful novel (actually, it's more like a beginning of a saga) that was sci-fi, murder/mystery, philosophy of humanity ... all in one seamless, interesting, thought-provoking and entertaining piece. Isaac Asimov is a genius - a maestro - with his novels!

R. Giskard and R. Daneel. "R." for "Robot" Characters who lived through the Robot series, the Earth series, and the Foundation series. I read each and every book and then I read them again. I hated it when I realized that I finished the entire series! It really was (is) amazing.

I was so happy when I found the trailer on www.apple.com, but the second that I watched the trailer for the upcoming Will Smith movie "I Robot", I realized that this was NOT an Isaac Asimov movie. This is a Will Smith movie. A Hollywood movie. A piece that will have Asimov fans livid. Up in arms in anger. Even the ubercool featurette on the robot NS-5 doesn't make up for it.

Check out this synopsis: from the website:
Will Smith stars in this action thriller suggested by the classic short story collection by Isaac Asimov, and brought to the big screen by dynamic and visionary director Alex Proyas ("Dark City," "The Crow"). In the year 2035, robots are an everyday household item, and everyone trusts them, except one, slightly paranoid detective (Smith) investigating what he alone believes is a crime perpetrated by a robot. The case leads him to discover a far more frightening threat to the human race. "I, ROBOT" uses a spectacular, state-of-the-art visual effects technique to bring a world of robots to life.

This look like a desecration of everything the "I, Robot" series is all about. But I am still praying that I will be proved wrong on 07.16.2004!!!!
