BTW, I was thinking of bringing my Mac to Malaysia, but chickened out since I thought I might forget to copy a file from my work PC that would later turn out to be critical. Sadly, I know now that I would NOT have needed any of my other old files. PLUS ... I could've requested a WiFi room in the hotel. Grrrrr ....

There are few things that really piss me off, and unfortunately one of them is becoming second best.
The Manila Speedzone has been our tambayan for the past few months, and I'm happy to say that I've been getting pretty good at karting.
I've always known that I'd never make the top 20 in Speedzone, since it's pretty obvious that the professional racers and talented addicts like Vic and company would always be up there. But I was really happy thinking that I was one of the fastest girls on the track! My personal best is a nice little 0:57:288. The fastest ever is at 0:53:2. The fastest girl, Arlene, is a very unreachable 0:56:something. But I've been happily the second fastest.
This month, Addict Mobile is giving away free cellphones to the fastest male, female, and child on the track. I was the fastest girl for June for about ... oh... a week (?), at a modest 0:58:899. That is, until an unknown "Lovely" gal came around and beat it with a 0:57:200!!!! Arg!!!! i tried my best last night and had what was probably my best heat to date ... ten cool laps at 0:58, the fastest of which is 0:58:089! So cool to have such a consistent night. Fast and consistent. But not fast enough.
With only three more days left in the month, all of which are filled with research, late night meetings, and family reunions, I guess I'm stuck at second best this month. Grrrrrr.......
